1955 NEC Corporation developed wire spring relay.
1970 Established NEC Tohoku (Ichinoseki city, Iwate prefecture).
1971 Started mass production of wire spring relay.
1988 Producted the world’s first twin relay.
1996 Established NEC Components Philippines, inc. (currently EMD Technologies Philippines Inc.) in the Philippines.
2002 Relay business has been spun off from NEC Tohoku. Established NEC TOKIN Iwate Co., Ltd.
2006 Integrated with NEC TOKIN Corporation (currently Tokin) and renamed as NEC TOKIN Iwate operations.
2009 Moved to NEC TOKIN Shiroishi operations (Shiroishi city, Miyagi prefecture)
2013 Established the second factory in the Philippines.
2017 Spun off from NEC TOKIN, and established EM Devices Corporation and EMD Technologies Philippines Inc.
2022 Opened development center NEXEM ATC at Tohoku University (MaSC)
2024 Started mass production of EV relays
